Zulfa Abdurahman is the Acting Managing Director of Old Mutual Investments and serves as Chief Risk Officer of Old Mutual Investment Group (OMIG). She joined OMIG in 2008 and is a member of the group’s Executive Committee, overseeing the Legal, Risk and Compliance functions for the investment-management arm of South Africa’s Old Mutual group.
Prior to her current role she led the Compliance division at OMIG, and earlier practised as an attorney in private practice at Norton Rose in South Africa. Her academic credentials include a BA, LLB and LLM, supported by professional risk and compliance certifications.
With more than a decade of experience in financial-services governance, Zulfa has a strong track record of leading enterprise-risk, legal and regulatory functions across complex investment platforms. In her leadership she emphasises robust governance, compliance culture and strategic risk management as essential enablers of sustainable growth. Her appointment as Acting MD reflects Old Mutual’s confidence in her ability to extend her remit into full business leadership in the investment-management space.
