Sola Yomi-Ajayi is an Executive Director at United Bank for Africa Group (UBA) with responsibility for the bank’s Anglophone and Lusophone African subsidiaries, as well as its Diplomatic, Multilateral and Development Organisation portfolios across Africa.
With more than 28 years of banking experience, she has specialised in corporate and institutional relationships, transaction banking, correspondent banking, structured funding, regulatory engagement and risk management.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Obafemi Awolowo University (Ile-Ife, Nigeria) and an MBA from Aberdeen Business School (UK).
Her leadership extends globally: she was appointed to the U.S. Export‑Import Bank (EXIM) Sub-Saharan Africa Advisory Committee as the African institution representative, underscoring her influence in facilitating trade-finance flows between Africa and the United States.
Under her guidance, UBA has enhanced its cross-border banking capabilities, strengthened institutional relationships, and supported Africa’s engagement with international development and trade organisations. Yomi-Ajayi is recognised for combining deep technical banking expertise with strategic foresight and continental scale execution.
