Hina Nagarajan is a seasoned global consumer-goods executive currently serving as President, Africa for Diageo plc and member of the company’s Global Executive Committee.
She holds an MBA from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and a bachelor’s degree from University of Delhi.
Her career spans more than 30 years across FMCG brands and markets. She joined Diageo in 2018, initially leading the Africa Emerging Markets division, where she drove margin improvement, supply-chain transformation, and category growth across multiple countries.
In July 2021 she was appointed Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of United Spirits Limited in India, the listed subsidiary of Diageo, making her one of the first women to lead a major spirits company in India.
In April 2025 she stepped into the broader Africa role, taking on oversight of Diageo’s operations across the continent and continuing her Global Executive Committee responsibilities.
Nagarajan is widely recognised not only for her commercial leadership but also for her commitment to inclusion and diversity, having spearheaded policies on parental leave, menopause support, and LGBTQ+ inclusion in India, which she regards as a legacy beyond financial performance.
