Temwani Simwaka is the Chief Executive Officer of NBS Bank, Malawi, having assumed the role on April 1 2025.
Her appointment marked a milestone as the first female CEO of the MSE-listed institution.
Ms Simwaka’s banking career spans more than two decades, including a period as Deputy CEO beginning in 2022 where she led the core-banking system migration, the establishment of a new forex bureau (which became profitable within its first year), and a broad digital and talent-development agenda.
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accountancy) degree and a Diploma in Business Studies from the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences.
She is a certified public accountant and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). Her leadership is grounded in driving operational excellence, innovation in banking, and promoting gender equity within the financial sector.
