Bolaji Olaitan Agbede is a Nigerian banker and corporate executive who serves as the Acting Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings Plc. She was appointed to the position on 12 February 2024, following the passing of Herbert Wigwe. At the time of her appointment, she was the company’s most senior founding executive director, responsible for business support.
A Nigerian national, Agbede earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Lagos in 1990. She later obtained a Master of Business Administration from Cranfield University in the United Kingdom in 2002. She is an honorary member of both the Chartered Institute of Management of the United Kingdom and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria.
Agbede’s professional career spans more than 27 years across banking operations, customer relationship management, and human resources management. She began her career at Guaranty Trust Bank in 1992, rising to the position of Manager by 2001. In 2003, she served as Chief Executive Officer of JKG Limited, a business consulting firm, before joining Access Bank Plc later that year as an Assistant General Manager.
In 2010, she was appointed Group Human Resources Director, a role she held for twelve years before becoming the founding Executive Director for Business Support in 2022. Following the untimely death of Herbert Wigwe in February 2024, Agbede was appointed Acting Group CEO by the Board of Access Holdings Plc, marking a significant moment in the company’s leadership transition.
